It's a work in progress. Better than the first but not as good as I'm confident I can achieve. 

Oil #1

I am currently attempting to teach myself how to paint with oils. I don't think seascapes are my thing but I love the ocean so here we go. 

Yea I love the ocean, live about a block away and on occasion wake up early to see a beach sunrise.  

So here's my first stab at oil paints.

Last night was a very long, long night for me...

So taking the advice of a friend I got up and started to create something I'll just call interesting. I turned a sheet of white paper into this...

It was really fun destroying one of my old books that quite frankly I never really liked so at least now it serves a new purpose. I like turning a piece of white paper and by adding textures, ripped pieces of book pages and paint you can turn it into a visual expression of whatever you happened to be feeling at the moment.

 

So this is a sample of what's to come, this blog will serve as my art journal as I let creativity flow.
